All You Are Supposed to know Motherless Brooklyn Before Rushing to the Cinema

Before you started thinking about the Bruce Willis Motherless Brooklyn Trench Coat, let’s get to know a bit about the film featuring it. Directed by Edward Norton, the film is based on Jonathan Lethem’s novel of the same name. Released on 1st November last year, the film received mixed reviews from critics and the fans while making around as many dollars as spent on it.

Short Summary of the Plot

Set in the post-war era of the 1950s, the film is all about Lionel Essrog who works as a detective agent along with Gilbert Coney and Frank Minna. Dealing with a neurological disorder, which often separates him from the rest, Lionel is tagged as ‘’ Motherless Brooklyn ‘’ by one of his friends.

Lionel’s only aim is to bring justice to Frank Minna’s soul who has been murdered by an unknown yet powerful man. This makes him go beyond his limitations and do whatever it takes to hunt down the man who has killed one of his closest friends.

Things get worse when Lionel has to deal with corrupt men and drug addicts all in the New York City is singlehandedly. In short, the film orbits around power, struggle and Lionel’s ability to send the bad guys to the prison.

The film features a long list of the cast with major names such including Edward Norton as Lionel, Essrog Bruce Willis as Frank Minna, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Laura Rose and Alec Baldwin as Moses Randolph.

Failure or Success?

As far as the budget and profit is concerned, the film has proved to be a big failure while securing only $18 million in profit. Although speculations indicated the film will be a big hit at the box office but movie pundits were absolutely wrong in predicting the failure. It made around $9.3 million in both the U, S, and Canada whereas the rest of the profit came from other countries where it released

Even though there was nothing impressive about the storyline or any aspect of Motherless Brooklyn, the audience was impressed with the Lionel Essrog Motherless Brooklyn Black Pea Coat which has been more popular than the film itself.
